Virtuality is an immersive installation blending experimental audio from Ableton Live with interactive visuals developed in Max MSP. Exhibited at ICMC 2018 in Korea, it explores the intersection of sound, technology, and art, offering a unique sensory experience.
My installation, titled "Virtuality," explores an undefined narrative reminiscent of childhood games or the sensation of being immersed within a game environment. For this project, I utilized Ableton Live to create a 5-track album, featuring experimental compositions that vary in toneā€”from upbeat and eerie to soothing. Some tracks were crafted using manipulated recordings of everyday kitchen items, adding a unique texture to the soundscapes.
In addition to the audio component, I integrated Max MSP to develop interactive elements within the installation. This included implementing various Vizzie effects: Delay, which temporally shifts signals; Fogger, to introduce a blurred aesthetic to video content; Fractalizr, for creating intricate visual patterns and symmetries; and Scramblr, which organizes video output in a disordered manner. These effects dynamically interact with sound, distorting and transforming the accompanying visuals to evoke a distinct atmosphere.
"Virtuality" merges audio experimentation with interactive visual manipulation, offering viewers an immersive experience that blurs the boundaries between reality and virtual realms. This project represents my exploration of the intersection between sound, visuals, and interactive technology, showcasing a diverse range of creative expressions within a single installation.

Being selected to showcase Virtuality at ICMC 2018 was a testament to its innovative approach and contribution to the intersection of sound, technology, and interactive art. This experience not only expanded my understanding of interactive installations but also provided invaluable insights into the global conversation surrounding digital art and immersive environments.
